DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated key member of the Senior Management team to join our company. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the incumbent will provide operational oversight and management of the finance and procurement team. You will be expected to plan, implement, manage and control all operational oversight of the Group, including but not limited to:

Internal controls:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal control systems to safeguard the organisation’s assets. Such as Asset registers to managed and reconciled.
  • Evaluate existing internal processes and recommend improvements for operational efficiency, focusing on procurement, financial and operational controls. Such as Job card recon KZN, JHB and Cape town, T&Cs of customers procurement, Year End Stock control.

Cash flow management and Planning: Plan and manage the cash flows of the organisation in order to ensure that the organisation can operate efficiently and effectively ie. Manage reputational risk: pay creditors/ expenses on time, manage credit risk: Ensure debtors are collected timeously and are within terms and all legal requirements for debtors are in place (credit applications/ National credit act requirements).

Cost and efficiency management: Continuously review and analyse manufacturing costing and production efficiency with a view to improving profitability.
Collaborate with the production department to review manufacturing processes, improving productivity and profitability. Assess causes and impacts of downtime.

Financial function: Oversee the finance function, including budgets, management accounts and financial statements.
Monitor the financial performance of the organization and provide insights on variances from the budget. Lead the preparation of management accounts and ensure compliance with statutory financial reporting requirements.

Reporting: Reporting directly to the CEO in line with the objectives mentioned in points 1 to 4
Prepare and present comprehensive group and company financial and operational reports to the CEO, board and executive committee, providing clear insights into the group and individual business performance as per timelines.
Each of these roles works collaboratively within the organisation to ensure the business runs efficiently and aligns with strategic goals set by the CEO. These roles collectively contribute to strong financial health, operational efficiency and risk management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s and/or honours degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Familiarity with financial and operational controls, particularly in procurement, asset management, and stock control.
  • Proven experience in managing cash flow models, forecasting and financial budgeting.
  • Familiarity with costing, budgeting and variance analysis in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience overseeing financial statement preparation, budgeting, and management accounts.
  • Strong communication skills for reporting to executives and cross-departmental/ subsidiary collaboration.
  • Proficiency in using financial reporting and Microsoft office software.
  • Must be a fast learner with the ability to easily grasp and understand the business, systems and processes as well as and interpret information with a view of providing value added recommendations to the CEO and other executives.

GENERAL

Will be required to travel to the various branches and subsidiaries across the country.
