Job Title: Technical Draughtsperson

Location: Johannesburg, Robertville

The draughtspersons main job is to create technical drawings based in given specifications and calculations. The draughtsperson works with professionals in their field like Engineers/ other experienced site surveyors, who provide details on the structure of the item.

DUTIES

Technical Drawing and Design

• Create technical drawings and plans based on specifications and instructions from engineers.
• Revise drawings based on feedback and changes in project requirements
• Calculate dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials
• Produce 2D and 3D technical drawings, plans and schematics using AutoCAD
• Review technical drawings with engineers and other specialists
• Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality
• Maintain organised records of drawings and revisions
• Prepare documentation and presentations for project meetings
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings
• Prepare cut files from drawings for production purposes

Quality Control and Compliance

• Adhere to project deadlines and priorities set by supervisor
• Ensure final designs comply with quality standards, safety standards and other regulatory requirements
• Managing and updating drawing files and database

DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 – 10 years experience in the field
• Relevant tertiary qualification
• Excellent CAD software skills (AutoCad and Autodesk Inventor)
• CorelDraw experience
• Able to work under pressure
• Good communication and people skills
• Previous experience in manufacturing industry will be advantage
